FROM KNOWLEDGE TO COMPASSION IN ACTION Hands

His Holiness the Dalai Lama will be joined by leaders in the area of compassion and empathy for a wide ranging discussion of how parents and educators can bring compassion into the lives of children and families. COMPASSION FORUM Hands

The Compassion Forum engageD a diverse group of over 500 citizens, policy makers, teachers, parents, youth, community leaders and philanthropists in an important dialogue to define action steps to sustain the goals of Seeds of Compassion. His Holiness the Dalai Lama will attend a portion of the Compassion Forum.

MONDAY, APRIL 14
CHILDREN AND YOUTH DAY Qwest Field and Seattle CenterA day specifically for children and youth, created by children and youth. Over 16,000 children and youth, along with teachers and chaperones, will be bused from their schools to the Seattle Center. Participants will enter the Seattle Center together and spend the day sharing expressions of the What Does Compassion Looks Like™ campaign, attending youth performances and programs, visiting booths created by children and youth, and learning about compassion from leaders including His Holiness the Dalai Lama.
BUSINESS AND POLICY LEADERS LUNCHEON Qwest Field and Seattle CenterThis is a first-of-its-kind luncheon as business and public policy leaders are invited to learn how businesses can successfully implement compassionate practices in the workplace and how those actions benefit to clients, employees, investors as well as the community.
RESULTS OF THE BUSINESS AND POLICY LEADERS DIALOG AND COMPASSION FORUM Qwest Field and Seattle CenterImmediately following the luncheon, His Holiness the Dalai Lama engages the audience, sharing his perspective on how to foster compassion in the workplace and community.
UNIVERSITY OF WASHINGTON CONVOCATION HandsHis Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama speaks on compassion and civic responsibility, followed by a dialogue with University of Washington students. As part of the convocation, the University of Washington will confer upon the Dalai Lama the honorary degree of Doctor of Humane Letters.
SEEDS FOR THE SPIRIT CONCERT Qwest Field and Seattle CenterReflecting the mission of Seeds of Compassion – to nurture kindness and compassion in the world starting with children and all those who touch their lives – this inspirational event brings together a generous, eclectic and acclaimed group of artists, all donating their time to help promote the welfare of children and advance the compassion movement.

MORNING SPIRITUAL CONNECTION DIALOG Qwest Field and Seattle CenterConcluding the five days of the Seeds of Compassion event, this session focuses on the common theme of compassion that lies at the heart of the world's spiritual traditions. This special panel discussion will feature His Holiness the Dalai Lama and several other leading spiritual leaders as they talk about the themes common to all spiritual traditions.
AFTERNOON SPIRITUAL CONNECTION DIALOG Qwest Field and Seattle CenterConcluding the five days of the Seeds of Compassion event, this session focuses on the common theme of compassion that lies at the heart of the world's spiritual traditions. This special panel discussion will feature Bishop Desmond Tutu and several other leading spiritual leaders as they talk about the themes common to all spiritual traditions.
